Laser Treatments in Turkey
Laser treatment is a skin care procedure performed by a dermatologist or doctor using laser beams. This treatment method treats small facial defects by removing skin layers as needed to improve skin appearance. And also reduces wrinkles, age spots, acne spots or other spots, as well as tightens the skin and balances its tone. The methods used in laser treatment are scientifically proven procedures.
There are two types of ablative and non-ablative lasers used by dermatologists in laser treatment procedures. There is also a third type of laser called Fraxel (fractional photothermolysis) and can be used in both ablative and non-ablative treatments. Both ablative and non-ablative lasers use heat to stimulate collagen production under the skin. As a result, increased collagen production makes the skin firmer and more toned.
After consultation, your dermatologist will determine which type of laser treatment (ablative or non-ablative) is necessary for you according to your individual needs.
Ablative laser teratment cleans the skin’s surface layers and dermis. Erbium and carbon dioxide (CO2) lasers are used. Erbium lasers address problems such as fine lines at the surface level. The CO2 laser handles deep wrinkles, wounds, warts and skin rejuvenation.
In ablative laser treatments, the damaged skin is removed from the area to be treated by applying heat with a light like pulse. The heat released, destroys damaged skin cells and accelerates the growth of new skin cells. In some ablative laser treatments where the outer skin layers are removed, local anesthesia or intravenous sedation may be applied to the patient.
Non-ablative laser treatment does not remove skin layers. Fractional lasers, pulsed dye lasers and intense pulsed light devices are used in this method. Non-ablative lasers warm the skin to stimulate the production of new collagen, do not remove the skin, do not damage the skin cells on the surface, only tighten the skin. People with sun damage, pimples, small wounds, rosaces, and spider veins can benefit from this method. In some cases, sensitivity may occur after the procedure, and your dermatologist will suggest a safe way to control the condition.
How the laser treatment process feels depends on the depth and area of the treatment, the laser method used, the person’s tolerance to pain, and most importantly the expertise of the dermatologist performing the procedure.
Laser treatment can sometimes result in a one-time treatment. In some cases, a number of treatments may be required. The post-procedure healing process may vary depending on the type of laser used and the individual’s health and healing rate. Usually non-ablative treatments require no interruption. In ablative treatments, the healing process may take 2-4 weeks depending on the depth of the procedure.
